Food at it’s Freshest!

Food really seems to amaze me with every day that passes by. It’s unbelievable how things have changed over the last couple of years. It wasn’t too long ago that people were quite comfortable with dubbawallas as they knew their food would come to them hot and fresh, now there are a few guys in this industry who had to raise the bar and prove to hungry eaters like you and me that they are the better choice.

Fresh Menu, one of the newbies on the scene seems to be doing just that.

They use high quality ingredients and serve you food from cuisines across the world at a minimal cost whipped up by professionally trained chefs and bring it to your doorstep.

I’ve got quite a few mixed reviews from close family and friends so was a bit sceptical at first but then I had to see for myself so that’s when I decided to test them.

They have a website and app that make you want to select everything you see on the screen with their amazing food styling and photography skills. I would recommend you using the app as it is much faster and easier to figure out.

They have a daily menu for lunch and dinner that changes every day so this is ideal for an office goer or the lazy housewife who can’t eat the same food twice. Currently they have about 16 dishes that consist of salad, appetizers, sides- burgers and sandwiches, main course and dessert. I would be happy to see them adding more dishes to the menu though as I find it quite limited at the moment.

What I was stunned about was they had mentioned that the food would take about 45 minutes to reach, my food landed in about 20 minutes so you could see that they were already in my good books right there.

I found the packaging quite neat and sturdy. Every element of the dish had it’s own compartment and each box was labelled with the dish’s name. It also mentioned that it was free from preservatives and artificial flavours.

The quantity was really good and will definitely satisfy your hungry tummy. It was time to satisfy mine now so we began with some great appetizers.

Thai chicken nuggets

Usually when you hear of nuggets, the first place that rings a bell is Mc Donalds and you expect them to be a little more different. These were more like kebabs but extremely flavourful. It was like an all night party in my mouth. Crispy bits of chicken marinated in a beautiful Thai based sauce, was definitely the highlight of my meal!

Chicken Quesadillas with Oriental dip

I absolutely loved this dish. The quesadillas were light and filled with a delicious savoury mixture of vegetables and spices. It went brilliantly with the sour cream and salsa. You could see me doing the Mexican dance in my mouth!

Teriyaki Grilled Fish

The fish was grilled to perfection and was accompanied by hakka noodles which seemed like such a weird combination but complemented each other well. It was great, flavourful dish!

Moving on to the main course now…

Curried Chicken with Rice

I had a whole different vision of this in my mind. Didn’t expect it to have an Indian touch to it. Felt more like I was eating Puliyogare as it had quite a lot of tamarind in it and sadly I wasn’t a fan of it!

Always have to end on a sweet note…

Apple crumble

This was honestly a real disappointment. I always grew up on it and it’s been my all time favourite dessert. Sadly this was too dry and it was sort of hard. It didn’t really crumble.

Expresso brownie

This was such a relief after the previous dessert. Always been a fan of Tiramisu so it worked well for me. What I really liked was the fact that the expresso didn’t overpower the dessert, There was a nice balance of flavours!

Food technology has made life so much easier these days especially if you live in a locality where there are not many restaurants at your reach.

Ordering food becomes such a blessing in cases like these and Fresh menu seems to be doing it’s job pretty well.

They currently serve in Koramangala, Richmond Town, MG Road, Frazer Town, Cox Town, Ulsoor, Indiranagar, Hennur, Kamanahalli, Whitefield, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, HSR Layout, Jayanagar, JP Nagar and areas nearby.

The cost of a dish starts from Rs 150 to Rs 300
