Mama’s Veal Chops with Stir Fried Veggies

It’s been almost 7 months since the #beefban is going quite strong in Maharashtra and I seem to be missing it a lot more these days. I come from a family where this is our staple meat so you can imagine exactly what I’m going through right now.

So please don’t judge me. I’m not too fond of animals but that doesn’t mean I enjoy killing them. I’m just a regular girl who loves her meat way too much so give me a break?

2 more days to go home. YES. Only 2 days left and now all my cravings begin. My mother wouldn’t like to call herself a fabulous cook but once she’s in chef mode, food ought to be spectacular!

Veal has always been our obsession in the family and there’s something so special about the moist and tenderness of the meat.

Here’s a simple recipe that I would like to share with you’ll. I’m too excited to go back and gorge on this now

Mama’s Veal Chops with Stir Fried Veggies

Mama's Veal Chops with Stir Fried Veggies
  1. Wash and clean the Veal chops.
  2. In a bowl, add in all the sauces and mix well. Marinade the veal chops with this sauce mixture and rest in the fridge for about 2 hours.
  3. After this, take them out and add them into a pressure cooker and cook with a little water for about 40 minutes, till the meat is tender. Keep aside.
  4. In the meanwhile, add the onions to a frying pan and caramelise them till they get a nice golden brown colour. Once they have become the colour you want, add the veal chops to this and fry them in the pan till it dries up.
  5. For the stir fried veggies: Heat oil in a large frying pan and fry the garlic for a minute.
  6. Then add the veggies and toss them in the pan for about 3-5 minutes or until the vegetables have cooked and become tender.
  7. Garnish with the herbs and chilli flakes.
