Choco Yum Tums!

I seem to be doing good justice to my kitchen these days. Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I think about is, what am I going to do today? The ideas keep flowing from my head. Hence, I think it’s time I put them to good use!

I’ve always been known by my close family and friends for my “Christmas Time Rum Balls”. This is something I take great pride in making and now I’ve done a little twist to it. It is the perfect dessert for all you crazy chocoholics.

  • 3 cups Bourbon biscuits Mcvities
  • 1 cup chocolate melted
  • ½ tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate drinking powder
  • 3 tsp rum
  • 1 tsp condensed milk

  • 1 cup chocolate melted
  • ½ tablespoon butter

Instructions
  1. Silver sprinkles to decorate
  2. Crush the biscuits in a bowl and make sure they do not become too powdery. Add the melted chocolate, butter, condensed milk and rum and stir until well combined. Sprinkle the chocolate powder over the mixture and stir once more.
  3. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until it is firm enough to shape for about 2 hours.
  4. Using a teaspoon, roll the mixture into small balls between your palms and flatten them down a little bit. Put them on a tray and start carving the letters with the sprinkles. You can do a whole lot of things with them.
  5. Tips: Make sure you wet your hands before you start rolling them into balls. The consistency is very important so see to it that you get that right.
