  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees celsius. Line with paper muffin liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, butter and vanilla.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to this bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer until you get a less-sticky batter.
  5. Fold in the walnuts and stir well.
  6. Fill the muffin cups with a spoonful of the batter.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  8. Serve hot
